3 Blind Mice
3 Blind Mice (2003)

IMDB rating: 4.20

Plot: Thomas (Edward Furlong) is a young computer specialist who spends most of his (spare ?) time on the net. He logs regularly on Cathy’s site and apparently runs a very strong – but platonic! – relationship with her: they only see each other through webcams. One day, while Thomas is connected, Cathy is murdered under his eyes. But when he calls the police to try to “do something” he realizes that he doesn’t even now her “real” name or adress…. Apparently the only witness, Thomas will soon find himself involved in the investigation held by Claire (Emilia Fox) a young police officer also web specialist. Together they will discover in the real world as well as in the virtual one, very weird things….

Anime Questionnaire!?
Because I’m bored. So…I have no dubiously witty comments to say, so just fill out the form, sign your name here, here, and here, and your insurance form will be complete. As far as you know.

And, begin!

#1. When you read/watch an anime or manga by a particular author or company, do you feel obligated to read whatever else that author/company produces?
>>Ah, yes, fan loyalty. I am a victim of it. After watching and loving the anime FLCL and Gunbuster 2 (Diebuster), I feel obligated to watch whatever GAINAX produces. I haven’t been disappointed by any of the series, so that just strengthens my loyalty. Which is why I’m watching Hanamaru Kindergarten this season. As for manga, I’m an absolute sucker for books that say "from the author/artist of [series x]!" I’ve bought so many blind buys that way…

#2. Plan on watching anything this season? Thoughts on any series you have watched?
>>I’ve watched the first episodes of Hidden God and Sora no Woto. I love them both (and not just because I’m a sucker for slice-of-life and anything by Peach-Pit). I plan to watch Dhurarara!! at some point (probably this Friday) and Katanagatari when it’s released.

#3. Adult Swim has recently made an announcement that they’ve accquired three new anime licenses and they plan to broadcast them on their network. What do you think they are, why, and how well do you think they’ll do?
>>From reading the feedback on ANN on this announcement, and from my own personal intuition, I think it’s Soul Eater, the final season of InuYasha, and FMA: Brotherhood. First, I pick Soul Eater because…well, I really just want it to be on TV. As for how well I think it’ll do, probably well for the first few airings and then, either by time slots or something else, will gain less and less viewers until it’s taken off the air. I think InuYasha is a good pick because they’ve shown all the beginning of InuYasha and it seemed to do well, so I don’t see why the last season would be any problem, at least with ratings. FMA: Brotherhood is basically the same reasoning, its predecessor did well so I think this one will too. Of course, I don’t know how well viewers will take to a basic repeat of the original FMA.

#4. FUNImation has finished their roll-out riot (a week where they announced a bunch of new licenses consecutively. This seems to be all about licensing, doesn’t it?). What titles do you wish they had announced?
>>I wish they’d licensed ToraDora, K-On, and Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei. How these immemsely popular shows escaped licensing is beyond me (or there might be other factors preventing them from licensing it, but still…)

#5. Take your favorite anime/manga character and make the president for a day. What would be the first policy they enacted?
>>Keyblades will be the standard weapon for any citizen. Also, all Mickey Mouse merchandise will be required to show him wearing a trenchcoat.

#6. What manga do you wish someone would make an anime of?
>>+Anima and Otomen. Both are perfectly suited to make great anime, in character designs and plot.

#7. Last question, I promise. What do you deem the most surprising anime/manga moment?
>>When we first see Rena’s demonic side in the first arc of When They Cry. Going into the book with no real knowledge of what it was about, seeing Rena contort her face into a demon’s really shocked me. And everyone else I gave the book too.

BQ: Haha, I lied, that wasn’t the last question. Don’t look at me like that, my fingers were crossed. Anyway, todays BQ is….A Guess-Who special!

Who is the bloke in this picture?

Hint one: He’s a nekogami.
Hint two: The author of this series has done another manga about a supernatural bureau.

Have fun, peeps and peepettes. To the finite world, I leap!

I’m gonna humor you cause I’m bored too.

#1. When you read/watch an anime or manga by a particular author or company, do you feel obligated to read whatever else that author/company produces?
I’m not really when it comes to companies, but a definitely am with authors. I know what you mean about buying a manga just cause it has that little "from the creator of" sticker. I mean, I own everything Yuu Watase has ever written even though I think everything after Ayashi no Ceres was mediocre at best. I can’t help it though, and usually authors I’m familiar with don’t let me down.

#2. Plan on watching anything this season? Thoughts on any series you have watched?
I honestly no longer keep up with what’s new in American and Japan. I should get a new subscription to an anime magazine so I’ll be able to keep up. I do plan on watching anime, but frequently it’s series that have been around for a while and I just haven’t gotten around to seeing yet. Right now I have Le Chevalier d’Eon downloaded onto my computer and I plan to watch it right after I get around to watching the first season of Tsubasa Chronicles that a friend demanded I borrow.

#3. Adult Swim has recently made an announcement that they’ve accquired three new anime licenses and they plan to broadcast them on their network. What do you think they are, why, and how well do you think they’ll do?
Honestly, I have no idea what’s new in Japan right now aside from InuYasha: The Final Act, since Rumiko Takahashi happens to be one of the mangaka I slave to. I’ll be impressed if they get it on air in America that fast after it’s release in Japan, but then again I know Viz is really kicking up their efforts to release things in the states as soon as possible after their Japanese debut. I think InuYasha will do well, since as you said the former 7 seasons did very well on Adult Swim.

I’m skipping #4 cause I have no idea.

#5. Take your favorite anime/manga character and make the president for a day. What would be the first policy they enacted?
God, there are so many. I can’t choose just one, so it wouldn’t be a president, it would be an entire parliament of conflicting characters! xD They’re all headstrong guys, so they’d be trying to nuke foreign countries and going at each other’s throats the entire time.

#6. What manga do you wish someone would make an anime of?
Well, one anime I can’t wait to see is Kyoukai no Rinne. I know there will definitely be one before too long, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

#7. Last question, I promise. What do you deem the most surprising anime/manga moment?
The first thing that comes to mind for me is when I was reading Fushigi Yugi several years ago. I was new to manga, and not used to the cross-dressing phenomenon. So when volume 3 comes around and it reveals that Noriko is actually a man… I was basically like "Wtf? O.o" Haha, of course now it’s nothing new to find out a character isn’t the gender you always assumed they were, but at the time it was a real surprise.

Aaaaaaand…….. I have no clue who that kid is. Best wishes! =)

1- Nope, to be honest I prefer playing with my toys.

2- No, I’m too busy trying to find out who Kira is and put an end to this killing

3- I don’t have that channel here

4- I didn’t know of this. I was busy trying to figure out this "Death note’ I recently obtained.

5- Me. I would force all Death Note owners to personally hand them over to me. So I can find Kira.

6- I don’t really care much, what happens happens, but I have a Kira to find.

7- When L died. I never really liked him that much, but the fact he let Kira get to him was surprising.

BQ- That’s from Bokke-san, his name is Hinomiya.

1. A while ago I really got into Ranma 1/2, and because I liked it so much I decided to check out the authors other work. I didn’t feel obligated, I never do, it was just something I thought was worth looking at.

2. I don’t watch anime on television, I watch whatever I feel like at the time on the computer. It’s just so much easier and I don’t have to wait for "next weeks episode". So, with that being said, I don’t have any plans, just whatever I think is interesting, I’ll watch. Hmm … maybe I’ll start watching Monster …

3/4 I don’t have/watch Adult Swim or FUNImation, so it really doesn’t matter to me.

5. Light Yagami, because it would be fun to watch him go mad with even more power.

6. Hana-kimi. Love it to bits :3, but unfortunately, there is only a drama. No anime … *sad face*

7. Nothing was too shocking … When I was watched/read Death Note *may contain Death Note spoilers* I already knew about Mello and Near, so I knew in the back of my mind that L was going to die. And I sort of knew how it was going to end, because when you think about it, killing Light was the only way to properly end Death Note. I was a little shocked to hear that Misa committed suicide a year after Light died, but I mostly just felt horrible and sad for her. She must have been heart broken. All she ever did was love Light … blah, blah, blah [insert long, rambley, fan obsessed paragraph here]

BQ: No idea.
