So I was wondering if there any star wars references in chasing amy I haven’t picked up on, and does Kevin smith do this on purpose or is he such a nerd he accidentally just throws this in every time?

He definitely does it on purpose, he is a well established self proclaimed nerd, and the references aren’t subtle at all. The force and stan lee in mallrats, elias in clerks 2, etc. In chasing amy the main characters draw comic books, and a gay black comic writer of there talks about darth vader "the blackest brother in the galaxy, proud Nubian god" definitely intentional stuff

In Chasing Amy, there was the scene at the comic-con panel wherein Hooper X tries to convince the crowd that the Star Wars Trilogy was a thinly-veiled analogy of how white people keep black people down, where Jason Lee deliver the immortal line "What’s a Nubian?"
The Star Wars references are definitely deliberate. One only needs to watch ten minutes of any Kevin Smith interview to find out the man is absolutely a fellow geek.

hey, I’m a bit confused, I’ve never doubted my fiance before and so its all come as a bit of a shock. my fiance is a police officer and he goes out with his police mates drinking a fair bit. I’ve always been annoyed at how drunk he gets, he comes home stinking and sometimes vomiting. Unfortunately some people just cannot grow up, though, and if this is the case you’re better off without him.

He’s obviously not "grown up" at all if he has time to leave his fiance and son at home while he goes out and gets drunk and flirts with other women. There’s no reason for him feeling the need to get drunk often, a drink or two a couple nights a week is totally different then getting drunk to the point where he doesn’t remember if he has cheated on you or not. Is This too boring for the beinning of a novel? What can i do to improve (introduction)?
My name is Liz and I’m turning 16 this fall. I am not one of those teenagers that get into trouble. I pretty much get what I want when I want without hassle. My mom is the sweetest woman on earth and my dad spoils the both of us rotten. I couldn’t ask for a better pair of parents. I sort of run my household. My parents are lucky to have a daughter like me who would never take their kindness for weakness. I am similar to ther backbone. There are no set rules because I hardly do anything which is by choice. The typical teen would think I’m a total nerd but surprisingly I am considered popular. Obviously because of my appearance but of course this is shallow junior high school where looks are more important than getting an education to some. Pathetic in my opinion. I don’t have any friends and I’m probally viewed as stuck up. The furthest from the truth. I can’t help it if I can’t have an educated conversation with teens my age. I’m so irritated with girls the most.Their discussions consist of boys,sex, and gossip nothing that I would want to discuss. While they’re at the beach i’m learning to speak foreign languages. I speak 3 different languages now. I’m usually home alone alot which isn’t a problem at all. My parents knows that I am responsible. I don’t see what the big deal is about the boys at my school anyway sure some have grown more attractive since elementary but nothing to obsess over. It’s easy to follow..but work on your punctuation and more importantly, content. You’re constantly telling and telling and telling about your life. You need a hook. "My name is Liz" is something you’d find in a 5th grader’s diary entry. Add suspense. Add drama. But you’re off to a great start; I can tell you worked hard.

Honestly, I’m too tired to give a verdict on the entire thing, but from a quick scan through I can tell you that you do need to do a grammar scan (maybe ask a teacher to go through it for you?) and also make the intro a bit more interesting, for example, if I was writing a story about a shock horror murder, rather than saying

"I was 15 years old when it happened", I’d say
"I still remember that day. It seems like so long ago, but I was only 15…"

Well, kind of. Your first sentence needs to get the reader’s attention. Make them want to read on to figure out what your talking about. Here’s some suggestions (feel free to use any of it):

I am not a lesbian. I’m just not attracted to any of the boys at my school. True, some are rather cute, but it’s their personalities and immature qualities that throw me off. For that reason, my parents trust me. I’m usually left home alone. Which is fine by me, usually all my parents want to talk about is all the negative things that a teen has to deal with: boys, sex, drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc.

I’m a trouble maker, no doubt. But that doesn’t mean that I have to listen to the frivolous conversations that adults throw at me. I mean, I love my parents, don’t get me wrong. My mother is one of the sweetest women I know, and my father treats us both like queens. They even let me run most of the house at times. We don’t really have rules… But, sometimes, they can be a little overbearing.

Today for instance, as I was leaving for school, my mom stopped me in the kitchen.

"Liz, honey," she said, "are you ready for your first day of school?"

"I guess so, it’s not like I have much of an option, is it?" I replied. "I just hope high school is a little less annoying than the past few years.

"Oh, you’ll be fine," she assures me. "Go get dressed and I’ll take your picture. "

"Mom, please, this isn’t kindergarten, and I’m nearly sixteen."

Alright so I’ve become super great friends with this guy i met at my high school hes completely amazing and perfect for me in every way. Can I or my husband be responsible for Accidental Sexting?
A year ago my son got a girl pregnant… In the mean time in March she moved out of our house. We went on a trip and I sent a nude pic. to my husband and he accidentally sent it to this girl. She received it in May and when she got it she said, "Nice that came to me" and he apologized to her and asked her to remove it.
After all this time we never gave any thought about it and had lunch dates with her and our grandson and she even went on trips with me to our condo. (Vacation)

If she, for example, posts it online she would be breaking the law. It is illegal to post pictures of someone without their permission. So if this happens you can file a police report and I hope you would.

As a grandparent you have as much rights as the biological parents do. If you are wanting a consistent relationship with your grand baby then you can actually have a visitation schedule made.

The pic is a separate non-issue. The issue here is she is refusing visitation. The pic is just something she is using as leverage over you. My best advice: get a lawyer. Sue for grandparent rights and if your son isnt already, he really should be doing everything in his power to have a relationship with his child. he’ll need a lawyer too. This is very typical behavior of a bitter ex, they like to use their children as power over the ex and family. The pic has no bearing on the issue at hand. None. I don’t think that she kept the picture. If at that time, she was having a good relationship with you all, and even after that nothing was discussed and she seemed to not have a problem, I don’t think that there will be a problem, with the picture that is. If so, then if it does become a legal matter, you should document that it was a mistake and, and cell phone records should show the text messages where the pic was sent and it was an accident and she was asked to remove it. I don’t think it is anything to worry about though. She is just pissed that your son has moved on and probably thinks thought that he would try and get back with her, now she is trying to hurt him by keeping him and his family from seeing the baby.

This can also be used to show that this girl is only trying to blackmail you for something that is totally unrelated to you along with the proof that she was asked to remove the photo because it was an accident. She has no ground to stand on even if she was stupid enough to try and carry this out.

If you continue to have problems seeing your grandson, then since your son is off to college and you will probably be providing what he cannot for his son. I would take her to court for joint custody priviledges. I’m sure with her immaturity that there is probably dirt on her that could probably allow for her child to be taken away completely, so she won’t want that. Even if there isn’t, you have a right to visit with your grandchild so I think that you should go that route if need be.

pictures like that should be ERASED as soon as they are found.

If this picture is of you, then I assume that YOU agreed to take it. And you sent it to your husband. HE should have said , "WOW! NICE" but DELETED it immediately.

It is doubtful that any laws were broken here, but you two certainly LOOK like some kind of kinky couple that a judge might not want a baby to be around.

First off I would have to see the pic to see how naked it is! But really if she wants to fight you she’s blackmailing you so you got her! Grandparents have right too! Have you tried talking to her saying your sorry that your son and her didn’t work out but its still your grand baby and you want to be in their life? Keep trying to be nice for the baby’s sake; I bet she is just jealous and maybe hurting. Humans do stupid stuff when they are upset and or hurting. Talk to her and try to work it out, if that fails contact a lawyer and tell her to bring it on!

document the incident and your conversation with her then try to take to her with a hidden recorder with her saying that she wants to blackmail or expose you, then casual talk with some one that you might know in law enforcement in a hyperthetical way for advice on how to deal with her also if possible have your husband look back to see how he made the mistake if it is easy or common then use that as a defence dont take any action on her till after she 18

Is there an equation that will help with this physics lab?
We are doing a lab in physics where we have a rocket launcher (we made rockets out of straws and paper) and we have to launch a rocket and get it to land a certain distance away. The launcher has a plunger that you pull up and drop down to launch the rocket. Is there some equation that we could use to determine what the initial velocity would be when the plunger is raised to a given height?
